Quick Post: Apartment Gardening 101

I always feel like the mark of getting older is wanting to take care of something. Plants, pets, and eventually you level up to children.

Another sign of getting old is going to Home Depot and being actually interested in the items sold there.

“We clearly need a power drill.”

“I think that white paint is TOO white.” (this also applies to wedding dress shopping)

“Do we need an accent wall?” I’m pretty sure the words “accent wall” have never come out of my mouth until this year.

Anyway, Ben has had a dream of creating an aquaponic garden for months. I think someone’s been on The Land ride at EPCOT way too many times. While I don’t 100% understand the workings of this kind of garden, I do know that it requires fish. That I can get behind. I can also get behind growing lots of fresh mint for mojitos. See, I am very supportive!

After much toil (well, Ben toiled a lot more than me), I think our garden is coming along quite nicely.

Looks great, right?

JUST KIDDING! That is a photo I took at EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival. Here’s the real deal:

So stately.

I will provide an update on the aquaponic garden once we get that rolling, too. Hopefully I’ll have plenty of herbs to share soon, or at least a lot of mint for cocktails.
